Mike Flanagan’s Amazon Prime Video series adaptation of “Carrie” has rounded out its main cast.

Variety has learned that 10 actors are now set for series regulars roles in the show, which is based on the Stephen King novel of the same name. As Variety exclusively reported in April, Summer H. Howell will star as Carrie White, while Siena Agudong will play Sue Snell. It was also previously reported that Matthew Lillard would be joining the show in the role of Principle Grayle.

The CW has renewed its drama series All American for an eighth, and final, season. The pickup will make the series one of the longer-running shows in the network’s history — and also close the door on The CW’s previous era in terms of scripted programming.

Season eight of All American will run for 13 episodes in the 2025-26 season. The series from Warner Bros. TV, Berlanti Productions and shworunner Nkechi Okoro Carroll will close its run with 132 episodes; its eight seasons will rank among the five longest-running scripted series in the network’s history (not counting seasons of Upn or The WB shows that aired prior to those networks merging to form The CW).

In a recent interview with Collider, Frost discussed how Coltrane, who played Hagrid across all eight of the original “Harry Potter” films, will influence his take on the Hogwarts groundskeeper in HBO’s upcoming “Harry Potter” TV adaptation. Frost said he is “really aware of what went before” him in terms of Coltrane’s “amazing performance,” but made it clear he is “never” going to copy his work.

Emmy-winning actress Sheryl Lee Ralph received the Sidney Poitier Icon Tribute at the Gotham Television Awards June 2. The “Abbott Elementary” star has a special history with the tribute’s namesake.

“It’s a very full circle moment, because quite literally Mr. Poitier opened the door to Hollywood for me by casting me in my first film — ‘A Piece of the Action,’” Ralph told IndieWire on the red carpet ahead of the ceremony.

The 1977 crime comedy both starred and was directed by Poitier. Ralph played a supporting role in the movie, which also featured James Earl Jones. After this appearance, Ralph began scoring guest spots on popular TV show such as “Good Times” and “Wonder Woman,” before landing her Tony-nominated role in the 1981 Broadway musical “Dreamgirls.” Since then, Ralph has been a film, television and stage staple, but she professes that none of her success would have been possible without Poitier.

Netflix just dropped the trailer for Season 3 of “Squid Game,” premiering June 27, and now creator Hwang Dong-hyuk is teasing a potential spinoff for the South Korean international sensation.

“If I make [a] spin off, it will be a story happening between Season 1 and 2. There [was] a three years gap between Season 1 and 2,” Hwang told IndieWire on the Gotham Awards red carpet June 2. “So, I want to show what they did for those times.”

Hwang said that he dreamed up the third “Squid Game” season while he was planning the second.

“After I finished the whole season, the first season … I tried to come up with the idea of Season 2 and 3 at the same time,” he said.

NBC’s comedy pilot set at a Native American community center in Oakland has found its first four cast members.

Variety has learned exclusively that Jana Schmieding, Bobby Wilson, Wes Studi, and Rachel Dratch are all attached to star in the untitled single-cam comedy. As previously reported, Wilson is also a writer and executive producer on the show.

Variety exclusively reported on the pilot pickup in March. The official logline for the project states that it is “An ensemble comedy set at a Native community center in Oakland, Calif. The employees hustle to keep the lights on while lifting up those in need.

Last week’s episode of Raw featured tons of action, including Seth Rollins and Penta winning matches to solidify their spots in the Money in the Bank match, as well as the announcements of two additional clashes that’ll take place at the big event on June 7: Becky Lynch vs. Lyra Valkyria, and John Cena, and Logan Paul vs. Jey Uso and Cody Rhodes. Meanwhile, Liv Morgan returned after weeks away, much to the surprise of Dominik Mysterio and his new friend/chicken nugget supplier, Roxanne Perez.

“Squid Game” creator, director and writer Hwang Dong-hyuk joined production designer Chae Kyoung-sun, editor Nam Na-yeong and director of photography Kim Ji-yong and members of the “Squid Game 2” cast for a panel and screening on Friday night that was part of Netflix’s Fysee LA series.

“Saturday Night Live” just came off of its most-watched season in three years.

Season 50 hit an average of 8.1 million viewers according to Live + 7 data from Nielsen, meaning that seven days of viewing per episode were accounted for. That marks an increase of 12% compared to Season 49, in addition to representing the highest average since Season 47, which aired from the fall of 2021 to the spring of 2022.

This season’s average is especially impressive when considering that it does not account for the massive viewership of “SNL50: The Anniversary Special,” which aired on Feb. 16 to 14.8 million viewers. That total increased to 22.8 million after 35 days of viewing across platforms,...

Netflix has officially announced “My Sad Dead” (“Mis muertos tristes”), a new four-part horror drama miniseries helmed by acclaimed Chilean director Pablo Larraín and produced by his Chilean label Fabula in collaboration with Argentina’s K&s Films, producers of the streamer’s recent global mega-hit “The Eternaut.”

Now, original series creator Nic Pizzolatto is teasing that the acting duo might return to the hit HBO series more than 10 years since first starring together in it.
